Why the fee is stable

Cardano charges a minimum fee for every valid transaction. The base fee is calculated from transaction size in bytes, then extended for smart contract execution when scripts are involved.
  • Use a wallet that shows byte size before submit.
  • Batch outputs when possible.
  • Avoid unnecessary metadata for simple transfers.
  • Estimate script costs separately for dApps.

Cardano does not rely on an auction market for ordinary transfers. Users can estimate the cost before signing a transaction, which makes budgeting easier for wallets, exchanges, and payment flows.

How fees are used

Transaction fees are collected by the protocol and later contribute to staking rewards and treasury funding. That helps align network usage with long-term sustainability.
